A second-generation veterinarian, Dr. Ortiz (known to most as “Dr. O”) developed a passion for the care and welfare of all animals at an early age, as both of her parents were licensed veterinarians in Puerto Rico. Dr. Ortiz completed her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University in 1991 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Tuskegee University in 1995. She finished her internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee in 1996 and started practicing veterinary medicine the same year. In addition to general practice, Dr. Ortiz has worked as alternate staff at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida. Dr. Ortiz brings more than 13 years of veterinarian experience with clinical strengths in thorough diagnostic work-ups, dermatology and surgery. On a personal level, she presents a personable, compassionate demeanor while practicing high-quality medicine. In addition, she is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
